November's Ink of the Month draws its inspiration from one of the most captivating and fearsome figures of Greek mythology: Medusa, the legendary Gorgon whose gaze could turn the living to stone.

Medusa is a brilliantly vivid, almost electric green fountain pen ink, inspired by the serpentine beauty and deadly allure of its namesake. Its striking yellow-green base evokes the luminous scales of a serpent, combining an almost venomous brightness with subtle variations of lime, chartreuse and fresh green.

The true magic of Medusa, however, lies in its extraordinary colour-shifting shimmer. Depending on the angle and lighting, the metallic particles transform from radiant gold through warm bronze and coppery rose to a beautiful shimmering pink. Under direct sunlight, the effect is particularly dramatic, with brilliant flashes of gold and rose-pink moving across the vibrant green beneath.

This remarkable contrast between the vivid green base and shifting metallic shimmer gives Medusa an almost hypnotic quality, reminiscent of the Gorgon's legendary gaze. As the page moves beneath the light, the ink seems to transform before your eyes.

The original artwork by Belinda Rix portrays Medusa emerging from a rocky cavern, her piercing green eyes framed by a writhing crown of serpents. Delicate scales, serpentine features and subtle touches of colour bring this formidable mythological figure to life, capturing both her terrifying power and her haunting beauty.
