Apple Cider Writing Sample

Apple Cider Writing Sample

As part of our focus on our Ink of the Day, here is a writing sample of Van Dieman's Harvest Apple Cider. This sample was done using a Nikko G nib in a standard dip pen, to demonstrate both thin and thick line variation.

Once called the Apple Isle, Tasmania is home to the best tasting apples in Australia, and by natural extension, the best Apple Cider too. Like a lot of our great produce, the Huon Valley is the centre stage for much of this and is the inspiration for our box and bottle artwork. Apple Cider forms the base colour for the basket and apple cider bottle on the Harvest series box. This yellow is slightly darker than both Wattle Yellow from the original series and Beeswax from Harvest, but nowhere near as dark as Peanut Brittle, our Ink of the Day 2 days ago. Apple Cider is a perfect compromise between a true yellow, which does not write well in most pens, and a yellow brown. This ink shades magnificently, and is still noticeable enough to use in a pen.

Here is another sample using the Van Dieman's Eden on Rhodia Paper.
